Y'all need to see a movie called, "Un dia sin Mexicanos" (A Day Without Mexicans), which has been shown on HBO a lot lately. The movie is about a mysterious fog surrounding California, and everyone with Mexican blood disappears -- from homes, jobs, even from cars in the middle of the street, engines running. They disappear from the fields and from factories, causing a grinding halt to every activity in the state for 24 hours. The moral of the story: Our society is too enmeshed now to exclude an entire contingent of productive folks. It is a luxury we can't afford.
